GREENSBORO CHAPTER |
"EAR TO THE GROUND"
A collection of written works by 30 black high school students, at the height of the Achievement Gap crisis, and 30 black high school drop outs.
Purpose:
To humanize and de-vilify the black youth
To provide an insightful alternative to their behavior
To justify alternatives to exclusion in deal with inappropriate behavior
To provide a 1st person narrative for black youth in Greensboro, NC
To allow black children to finally dream, plan, and pursue higher education
The Greensboro Chapter of 2019, will produce an anthology of written works authored by 60 black youth, collected over the next month and previewed on the website, in addition the Greensboro Site will actively seek publication of the anthology in the print mainstream. Proceeds from the sell of the anthology, will be divided evenly among those who submitted and were selected for the anthology, to be distributed as long as they remain students, and seek some form of higher education.
